Santa Elena canyon

1500 ft high cliffs lead into the gorge cut by the Rio Grande (I think the river is visible in this photo).The cliffs to the right are US territory  which you have to ford the river to get to the path to climb them (I passed-sneakers and no towels), the cliffs on the left are Mexico. This park and the fauna in this area including an endangered big cat- is one reason why a wall along the entire border is such a bad idea.
