Eigg and Rum

The Scottish West Highlands are one of my favourite places to visit, but until now it's somewhere I've never been in Autumn. Glencoe was even more stunning than usual on the drive through, with the lower-than-usual sun and all the oranges and browns adding to its usual beauty.

Today we drove to Smirisary on the coast (see map) and walked across bogs and scrambled over rocks to reach the beach, White Sands. On the way we saw this view towards the islands of Eigg and Rum, both of which I have visited in the past. The path was busier than I expected; we passed five other couples!
