Diary of an Edinburgher

A big job!

The chilly gym with freezing air con has been sorted - Ryan, the gym instructor switched it off for a while. So today I cycled along the 'Gorges du Verdon'. When we drove round Provence in our combivan in the early 90s, we missed out on this area, because the night before we were due to go there, it was flooded, with landslides and caravans being swept away during the night. We 'camped' in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, and were rather alarmed at the amount of rain, and water that was swooshing past - up to the top of our wheels. But at least we were safe. Though we didn’t realise it.

I got back home from the gym in time to meet another chap there to give us a quote on the renovations. He was very good, and asked even more questions than any of the others, and pointed out a few small possible problems. Another chap came in the afternoon. I must say, they've all been very professional and efficient, and inspired confidence. Though just how big the renovation work is is beginning to sink in...

JR took Archie to the Links then popped into town on a mission. Now that the bus goes near the John Lewis door, a visit has become much more attractive (it has been diverted for months).

I decided to take Archie up the hill. Rang to see if Uncle A was in, but he wasn’t. Archie was just too grubby to go visiting after the hill, so we came home and got the fire on.

I liked the hole in the sky and the empty bench in the background but a man went and sat on it, and I couldn’t hang around waiting for him to depart.

Finished watching 'Mystery Road' - a very slow moving Aussie drama, so now we can binge watch 'The Cry'. Don’t tell me!

EDIT: JR not happy. The bus doesn’t stop at JL any more!
