Plaza De La Iglesia

We were up at some unearthly hour for our early flight to Tenerife, arriving at our hotel in Puerto de la Cruz at lunchtime, just in time to carry out some preliminary quality control of the local beer.

We were in need of some relaxation by the pool in the afternoon before a stroll down town (and it is a long way down!) for dinner in a restaurant in this square.

We fell into conversation with an English couple who have lived on the south of the island for a number of years and had come up North for a holiday to escape the half term crowds in their area. As one of them was an ex headteacher from Bristol, we found plenty to chat about in a very convivial evening. I can confirm it is an equally long way back up!
