Black Linn Falls
This morning we walked along the River Braan, up to Ossian's Hall. It's an 18th century folly, with some strange murals illustrating tales from the Celtic twilight. It's slightly spooky inside and the pool looks very black, and very deep. But there is a great view down into the falls from the balcony beyond.
After lunch in Dunkeld we drove through the beautiful fields of Strathmore, to Dundee, for our first look at the newly opened northern outpost of the Victoria and Albert Museum. It is 'moored' alongside Scott's ship 'Discovery' on the waterfront - quite a contrast. (Extra).
Inside is equally striking - it feels enormous, and with lots of little windows giving unexpected glimpses of the water. We looked at the exhibition on Scottish Design. First impressions were good, and it was encouraging to see lots of young visitors.
Back in Edinburgh now, and the internet is playing up. May not manage much commenting tonight, but we'll be home tomorrow evening.
