A Lone Poppy....

Armistice Day is almost here. At this time of the year, here in New Zealand, the wild red poppies bloom..... a symbol of the blood red poppies of Flanders Field so far away. This lone poppy is growing precariously on the very edge of the culvert over the Taylor River at the Omaka Ford. We must always remember and never forget the sacrifice of those who fell on the Western Front in the war that was meant to be “The War to End all Wars.”
