Diary of an Edinburgher

Salisbury Crags!

Another gloriously sunny autumn day! Can’t complain about this weather. Becky and Daniel came to pick Archie up to go frisbee fetching in the park. JR and I did our exercise, and when Archie came home, we decided to take advantage of the lovely weather and get out and about.

One thing we've I've been intending to try for a long time is to walk up Salisbury Crags. But it had to be on a nice, sunny, blue skied wind-less day. Such as today...

And so we set off, managed to get a park though it was mobbed, and set off up the long slope. It was a cloudless sky, so the sun was blazing in our eyes most of the way up.

Amazingly enough, I managed. With lots of stops to look at the view *ahem*. There were dozens, if not hundreds, of people in the Park, on top of Arthur's Seat, along the Crags - what a great asset for the city. I haven’t been up there for years.

I'm very stiff this evening - should really lie in a hot bath while we still have one. I was thinking - if my surgeon knew I had climbed up the Crags, he would say that my knee replacements are a 'success', because I know that some people can’t even walk unaided. But they're most definitely NOT a success!

JR said she'd buy me an ice cream as a reward. I was putting my order in - a double cone - while JR was looking everywhere for money. Eventually she admitted she had none. I had, unusually, about 75p in my pocket. The smallest cone was £2, but the kind man gave me a half decent cone - perhaps he thought I was about to burst into tears, or maybe throw a tantrum...(Extra)

A grand day out! Archie had two grand days out. And two baths, unfortunately for him.
