Guatemalan embroidery

We had a holiday in Guatemala a few years ago. It is a beautiful vibrant country, but for me the most exciting aspect was the textiles, beautiful woven fabrics and embroideries. I was tempted, and bought quite a few pieces. This embroidery has been waiting for me to use it - I didn't have any ideas for it. The woollen threads are very loose so it is quite vulnerable, so I have recently put a backing on it, and it hangs on the back of my chair where I see it every day. Like an old fashioned anti-Macassar!
