Diary of an Edinburgher

House guest!

Bike was cut short this morning due to the earlier than expected arrival of Pretzel. But what a good excuse! Archie tried to assert himself, this being his house, but she just bounced back and ignored his attempts. When he tried to hop up to his usual place on the sofa, Pretzel would dash across and jump up before him and sit looking down at him.

Libby, a new walker, was supposed to come at 12.30, but we knew the rain would be well and truly with us by then. She texted to say she'd try again next week. And so we took the dogs up the hill in the morning while it was still dry.

Pretzel is a good influence on Archie - there was no barking in the car, and no rushing up to dogs yapping at them - when he's with Bailey, they egg each other on in this regard.

I don’t think Pretzel has ever been up the hill, and she fair enjoyed it. We stood far apart and called them back and forth (fair tires them out) - Pretzel could beat Archie, she's a fast wee thing.

Back home, Archie had a quick paw and beard wash, but Pretzel refused to go near the shower. Anyway, neither of them were muddy, we kept to the grassy paths.

In the afternoon JR went off to the supermarket and the dogs and I watched afternoon TV.

Pretzel's mum was at an art class for the day, so it was great to be able to help her out like this. Pretzel is nae bother, just a wee tail-wagging delight to have around!
