Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

It's beginning to feel...

At last! A return to blue skies. Yay! No wind, but bloomin' cold. I couldn’t wait to get started on replacing all the newly brassed bits on the door, and in fact, I may not have quite done my half hour on the bike. They do look smart, though it really shows up the scuffy old brass step which the brassman will come and do in situ soon.

JR went off to the supermarket (and declared it to be a madhouse when she came home) and Libby came to take Archie out.

Later in the afternoon, we were tempted by an AllBarOne offer of 50% off main meals. We do like their Pad Thai... so Archie and JR walked down, while I got the bus. And we had a super meal. In and out in an hour or so before it got busy. Archie was good - he's very used to the wee corner table, and actually lay down and snoozed. Here we are, waiting for the bus home. And I spent a pleasant half hour (digitally) tidying up all the fag ends and chewing gum spots on the pavement.

More lights up. More batteries needed. JR has been bursting into song all day - 'It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...' Fortunately, I don’t think she knows the next line...
