Summer Picnic at the Park, South Auckland Styles

We waved farewell to the Husband this morning, he's off to Kuala Lumpur on a course, and isn't back until Thursday. We dropped him at the airport, then attempted to visit my grandmother to see if she'll join us for Christmas day. She wasn't home. A very good thing, as she is in a rest home against her wishes, but she's still getting out and about. We had a real journey to getting to this point, and she's not the same lady she was before the journey, but she's still my Nana in there somewhere, just a bit harder to find. She's discovered that she can do puppy dog eyes at fellow passengers on buses to help her on and off with her walker. Bless her!

We then went to my Mums. She was out. By then, we opted to head to Tumbling. While the girls were tumbling, Santa did a bit of shopping.

We then headed to the Bakery in the Gardens after Tumbling and headed for Totara Park, which was HEAVING. People picnicking everywhere, and many people had brought along their massive BBQs, just like these people. There's some free swimming pools at the park, and they aren't heated, but they too were heaving today. Still too chilly for me, but some of the kids tried to tell me that it was lovely.

The girls and I finished the day with movie night. The Youngest is really on the whole DOG thing at the moment. Desperate for a dog. We watched Marley and Me tonight, a bit of an effort to show what owning a dog can be like. It was a huge gulping, gasping, snotting sobfest by the end.
