Thursday walk
I took several photos this morning for the still life abstract challenge but then we went for a walk at a new part of an old trail. The river walkway in Columbia has several sections and I found out the last section had been open for a while. So we went out to lunch and then over to the trail..only 30 minutes away! It is a really nice walk around the Congaree Creek that flows into the Congaree River. We could see many places where mud was all the way up on the bridges from recent flooding..the creek is now about 10 feet below the bridges so that was lots of water moving upward here.
The area was really lovely with the fall color, huge trees, the reflection of the blue sky on the water and benches set off the trail to just sit in the quiet. I like this part of the river walk because it is less busy than the part closer to the city.
I know I will be going back to walk this one again.
