The drinking season
Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting Abstract Thursday once again. Photo in extra shows the original version.
As the festive season is about to begin I thought it appropriate to have a look at what's in our drinks cupboard.
It reflects changing social tastes. Today it's all about wine and soft drinks. Our drinks cupboard tells of a past era: whisky, liqueurs, sherry, and spirits ( not, I hasten to add that I indulged !). And it remains untouched except at Christmas .
This reminds me of Wales. The only time alcohol was touched on the farm was at Christmas when a small glass of sherry or port would be drunk with much ceremony.
