Lily of the Incas
At last summer has arrived on the peninsula! Temperature in the high twenties meant garden activity today was limited to the lounging in the hammocks by the river rather than toiling away on other jobs in the heat. It's a tough life, but someone's got to do it :-)
Not venturing off the property meant that today's blip is from the flower garden. I love these Alstromerias, their pink and yellow flowers standing out amongst the greenery.
Bit of trivia for you; whilst commonly known as both Peruvian Lily and Lily of the Incas, the flowers don't actually come from Peru - whilst they are of South American origin they solely come from areas in Brazil and Chile. Makes you think that someone along the line wasn't that hot on their geography...
