A rainy scene

What a cold day today - and when it started raining at about midday the rain felt quite icy. It was so lovely to have Luke back home again that we celebrated by going out for brunch this morning - a yummy breakfast that kept us going all day!

I made a lamb curry for supper and while that was simmering away we went up to Kingston as Gavin wanted to get something there that he had ordered. While he was collecting his purchase Luke and I went outside into the freezing rain to get some photos of the Christmas lights. Luke held an umbrella over me while I quickly set up the tripod and snapped a few photos. It was still heaving with shoppers at the end of the day and the only clue that shoppers are in this scene are the ghostly pale splodges in the image as the long exposure almost removes them from the scene.

Very happy to stay at home tonight, enjoy our warming curry for supper and watch some TV - a perfect evening for me! Poor Adam has not been able to come home yet as he is still trying to get to a stage where he can leave his lab research and experiments during the Christmas break.
