Raindrop Rose

Almost dry after the rain . . . this delicate rose was soaked first thing this morning when I saw it.

We had some definite rain last night. Here in southern California that is rare. Occasionally it looks like rain here, but rarely, at least in recent years, have we had much rain.

We actually had less rain this time than the weather people predicted. Northern California got the worst of the storm. During last night's news, the weather report was that rain won't be here again for another week. So I was a bit surprised this morning to see so much moisture.

This is the last regular week of classes at the campus. Next week is final exams. So I'm busy doing the last of the grading (well, actually my students will write an in-class essay this week--so more grading), recording the grades, and trying to get as close to finished as possible before next week. Whew! This has been a busy semester.
