Saintes Town Hall

We all met up in town for the annual Christmas Eve cocktails in a local bar. For the first time, Elvis came along and was very well behaved, sitting under the table and licking as many handbags and feet that he could reach. On the walk home, the river Charente was very high. It has been swelling with the rain over the past few days. It has already burst its banks on one side into the flood plains, as planned and managed. The walk also took us past the Mairie. The decorations are minimalistic, but very nice and add to the very old buildings.
