Lord President
A relaxed day compared to the hustle and bustle of yesterday. We walked into town only for the purpose of enjoying a coffee at Waterstones while people watching.
The Maidstone Model Engineering Club was operating in Mote Park, giving free rides in return for a charitable donation. Father Christmas was on an unexpected turn driving P2 class LNER Lord President, one of many locos on duty today. I’d have though he’d have his feet up today after yesterday’s exertions.
After a latish lunch it was time for present unwrapping, held over from yesterday. We knew what we were giving each other as we’d been there when they were bought! However, I was surprised by a new dressing gown which I wasn’t expecting.
Time for short run before dinner which was, in time honoured Boxing Day tradition cold turkey, cold ham and bubble and squeak. The evening was rounded off by watching “Call the Midwife” left over from yesterday.
