The Land of the Setting Sun

I took mum to the station this morning and then drove into Kemp Town for my physio appointment, but I had 45 minutes to kill so I went for a walk on the beach.  It was very cloudy, but the sea was so still, and was just lapping on the pebbles - a sound that I love.

After my physio I headed home and stripped and washed the bedding from mum's room, then prepared the other spare bedroom ready for New Years Eve when Anne's staying.  While I was doing this, Alan had set up his shooting targets at the side of the house, and had about an hour shooting.

We then went for a walk down to the beach and within minutes of us setting off, the sky cleared and was so blue without a cloud, it's amazing how quickly it can change!  Once down at the beach we walked along the undercliff walk for a couple of miles before turning round and heading back.  We stopped at the Avenue Tearooms for a coffee for Alan and a hot chocolate for me, and when we came out, I noticed the sun setting behind the windfarm, and the cloud formation meant that there was just a strip of light, literally over Rampion.  I stopped to get some shots and this seagull flew towards me as I took it.  The camera focused on the gull rather than the windfarm, but I really like his shot.

We went to Elif & Seyran's for a Christmas dinner tonight, and Seyran said the gull looks like a moustache lol!  We had a wonderful dinner and a really lovely night - no wine for me though, as I'm refraining until New Years Eve, so I took a bottle of The Bees Knees, the alcohol free fizz, which is fermented grape juice and green tea, and actually quite nice.

Home now, and it's time for bed. Hope you're all ok, I'll try and catch up tomorrow.
