Life In Wales

Heading Home

The one morning we slept in, was the day we had to check out, isn't it typical?  Anyway, our lie in wasn't actually that late and we were packed up and ready to leave at 10.30am.

We took a slight detour on our way and went to Fords of Winsford, a local car supermarket that's been around for years - we've bought a car from them in the past and they have a great reputation.  Not that we were buying a car today, but we will be in the Spring and Alan wants something that he can do a 'day van conversion' with, basically a small people carrier where we can remove the seats when we want to use it as a day van.

He's been looking at the Ford Grand Torneo Connect which is a 7 seater, and Fords of Winsford had 5 in stock so it was a good opportunity to go and have a look.  At Fords they let you take the keys to two cars at a time, and you don't have pushy salesmen hassling you, so Alan was able to spend time configuring the seats and could weigh up the possibilities.  We also looked at a Citroen and a Hyundai, but the Ford was much better, so it's given us something to thing about. By the time we'd finished looking, I felt so cold, so we went to the cafe where I had a hot chocolate and Alan had a coffee.

Our journey wasn't as easy today, it was really busy with lots of hold ups and took 5.5 hours, but even so, we were home just before 6pm, unpacked, had dinner and spent the rest of the evening in front of the TV.

Oh, and my blip is of a lovely Mandarin Duck - their colours are amazing and I love the reflection.
