Beautiful Little Garve

We went for a lovely walk along the banks of Blackwater at Little Garve.Very peaceful and warm in the sunshine. We watched buzzards sore above the Scots pine, saw a variety of fungi including Bengal match lichen ( thank you Fairweathergirl, would not have noticed if you had not blipped it ).
Waterfalls were tumbling and the black water of the tumbled between massive rocks.
We enjoyed a picnic at the end of our walk.
The bridge in the photo is part of a military road from Contin to Poolewe built in 1752.
The bridge ,silver bridge, at the other end was once part of a Dover’s Road where cattle were shod before continuing their journey South .
