HELP PLEASE!
Rubbish iPhone image due to the poor light, wind, ice and other things!
However, in the distance is a white box. In and around the white box, which is a trailer, towed by a tractor are people from our European allies. Think of a country, add two vowels (ia) to the end and you have got the message.
Yesterday I talked with the farmer's son. The folks working in this cauliflower field have my utmost respect. For many years now they have travelled from Estonia, Latvia, Bulgaria, Bosnia, you name it and they have come here. A few years ago their administration was undertaken by the farm manager, he ended up getting fined for employing illegals. The farmer then turned things on their head. He got the biggest and ugliest worker, made him their boss and told him he was responsible for any employee; there are 150 of them and they live in static caravans, six to a van. Now they are all legitimate, no problems. These men and women are ready to start work at 0700 and they go on until past dark, one of their number is designated as cook, he will have meals ready for them, their first priority on cold days is tea, any visitor is guaranteed a mug of red hot tea. When they want to eat their sandwiches they take turns sitting in the covered wagon making sure your veg is wrapped and packed correctly while munching away, then they swap and it's back to being waist deep in cauli/cabbage and mud, the same for the tractor driver. A UK citizen will stop his tractor, get out the Daily Mail and enjoy a respite, not these folks.
Many of us are opposed to their presence here, citing that they take British jobs. If they did not come here the farmers would not grow any veg because nobody would pick it. Yet these lads and lasses work because they can earn 5 - 6 times what they would earn in their home country, they group up and buy an old Audi or VW which takes them home every 3 - 4 months, along with their savings. They work in the harshest weather and always have a smile for walkers.
Now, help please.
We received a Landsend delivery via an unusual source today. Part of our order was sent to a Landsend customer in or near Reading. I think she is Fathima (Fesy?) Norush or Norish or Morush. I would like to thank her for being so kind but Landsend do not have a customer by that name. Her Postcode is RG30, that's as far as I can get. If you use Facebook is there somebody out there by that name? Any help is appreciated. I'd like to thank her and refund her postage if possible. There are some really nice people out there, faith in the two legged virus has been renewed.
