That time of year

Not very well planned buying a second hand car which needs MOT and service in January.  Excuse is that bought it from my brother in law when they downsized to one car and it was a bargain.
It is getting to an age when things start to wear out,  so it was a bit of an 'Ouch' when I got the bill.
It has given me good service for quite a few years so I can't grumble (but I will!)
