Lunch date in Manchester

My husband's home!!!!! Cried when I saw him, the big softie I am. This last week has been so hard without him. We have him until Sunday again and then he's back down to London.

Got up early with Audrey and headed into Manchester to meet him and my sister Laura for lunch amongst the throngs of Christmas shoppers and office parties. God Manchester looked fantastic, I swear this city has not suffered a double dip recession - it just gets better and better - more new shops, bars and restaurants every time I visit (which is most weeks!) There was a real buzz about the place today as the X Factor lot are in town. Saw lots of flashing cameras outside the Hilton on my way home.

I felt a frump though. Everyone looked so glammed up. I just felt mumsy with my jeans, checked shirt and comfy flat boots on. Had booked a few beauty treatments for the afternoon and was grateful for the pick-me-up they gave me.

Audrey was cute today. Her Auntie Laura is seriously besotted (see pic).
