Killing Time

There are great days with toddlers when it seems almost a shame to put them to bed and then there are arduous days when you are literally killing time between naps and bedtime. Unfortunately today was the latter.

Audrey is teething, again. And very irritable and hard to please. The only thing that will keep her placated is that damn anthropomorphic pig and I refuse to let her watch TV all day.

So our only choice was to split the day into manageable chunks and lots of pram walks.

Angus woke up mid-morning and I put him to work on the final decorations (poor guy) before he left us again for another day of Christmas mayhem at work. At one point he was outside in the freezing cold (having just got up), fighting with the tree outside our window and some fairy lights. I just thought, wow he must really love me to be doing that! Funny moment.

With Audrey being so testy, I'd banked on her having a two hour nap at lunchtime so I was gutted when she woke after just over an hour.

Took her for a walk with her reins down Beech Rd and back via the park. It was quite possibly one of the hardest things I have ever tried to do. Trying to keep her alive, away from cars and to stop her putting her hand in dogs' mouths etc. I was shattered afterwards but at least she enjoyed it.

Did a pram run out to the supermarket early evening and happened upon a festive scene (hard not to in Chorlton at the moment) - see pic.

Then it was home for a strangely happy bathtime (Calpol must have hit!)

Have literally given up on X Factor (will watch it on fast forward with my breakfast if I have to) so am having a curry and watching a movie instead.
