Underneath a Heron on a Windy Day

The wind was REAL strong today. It was 55-60F degrees, but the wind made it feel much colder.

The birds were almost non-existent, probably hunkered down somewhere.

But, this heron was out, and sitting on a big piece of boat equipment. 

I took several (actually, more than several) pictures of the big bird, standing directly under him. I then went and shot a few other birds, and when I returned 30 minutes later...he was still perched.

I guess the spot was his idea of hunkering.
