High flyers
German market in Birmingham was our destination today - not to buy anything specifically, but simply to enjoy the day, sample food and drink. There are still a few Germans around (many stalls seem to be manned by brits nowadays), but it's great to see all the wonderful things from the continent. Many of the stall holders wont leave until Christmas eve, but if today is anything to go by, they've had a good and worthwhile trip this year.
It wasn't anywhere near as cold as last year, but has been a lovely sunny and fresh day. It was getting busy later on but not crush busy except where walkways were constricted.
Instead of glühwein we had mulled cider with a splash of rum. It seems to be a great way of getting rid of sore throats - both Gail and I had one beforehand and both of us are now miraculously recovered. A german sausage for lunch and fruit and chocolate skewer for afters.
We did buy the usual Stollen cake - that won't last long at Christmas. Also the decoration for the front door - at £5 they are incredible value and last the whole holiday period.
Lots of images to boot, but this I just love. I waited around for a little while to get the right shot. Link to the whole day here!
