Silly Hats in an Unexpected Place

Today was the day of our college Christmas Dinner.

You see here some of the participants, wearing a collection of the most crazy hats in the magnificent and formal surroundings of our Hall. It is this juxtaposition of formality and informality that adds spice to our proceedings much of the time, and especially at this annual event. And remember that this Hall is effectively Hogwart's Hall in the Harry Potter films...

A few people bring their own particularly extravagant hats, but most come from a sack kept by the Common Room staff to hand out each year. Maybe this photograph will give an impression as a small sample.

The dinner itself was rather fine, although hugely excessive in the eyes of the middle-aged and older. Never mind, the younger participants thought the feast just modest in size. Here's the menu, and you see what seem to be three main courses! This is the end of the meal, the Cinnamon Doughnuts and Galliano Milkshake.
