Everyday I Write The Book

Getting my colour back

Went with TSM to see the Bonnard at Tate Modern. Good on a small scale - the still lives, the nudes, the rooms looking out on nature. Not so good as a landscape painter I thought, seemed like he got bored two thirds of the way through and rushed it. Gorgeous colours of course. That is his rep. Worth seeing. Inspired me to enlist TSM with this little colourful blip. Orange wall on the fourth floor if you can get up to Bankside.

Lovely to spend so much time together. Had breakfast out, and coffee in the members room at The Tate. London looked glorious in the cold bright sunshine, and the blue skies were just powder waiting to explode festival style.

Much better physically and mentally today. A week of Salofalk seems to have made a difference. I call it medication IKEA style - you have to put it up yourself ...

Read: speeches - Enoch Powell’s Rivers of Blood and Richard Nixon’s comeback speech when he got the Republican nomination in 1970. Trump should read the latter, whatever you think about Nixon he believed in a multicultural society. As for Powell ... shocking but sad as you can still feel the shockwave in Brexit Britain. We have a serious problem with racism in this country and need to start talking about it.

Ate: Gregg’s vegan sausage roll! And home made Thai red curry.

Exhibitions: Pierre Bonnard, Jenny Holzer

Of note: LEGO first hit the shelves sixty years ago today
