Four and twenty

Well, maybe not quite that many, but we have lots of Blackbirds on the lawn most of the day. I have counted at least 12 at a time. And we are certain that they are joined by Fieldfares now. They have to dig under the snow to find the apples, but seem to enjoy them nevertheless. It is great fun watching them from the kitchen window, especially as they quarrel and one of them decides to try chasing others away - makes even washing up interesting! 

I took this photo from the upstairs window, so as to get more of an overview. Not a terribly good picture as a result, but it gives the idea.
