Medicinal Drink?

Old Tavern Yard is, unsurprisingly, next to one of the village pubs - the Cricketers' Arms.  I get the feeling that from the look of the building and its location in the village, it is one of the oldest pubs (there are currently three pubs and there is evidence of at least five!).  It is a traditional pub where people (mainly men) go to drink beer and chat in front of an open fire (and sometimes a screen with football on it!). 

I could perhaps have done with a stiff drink earlier today.  Having got in to work I came over feeling faint.  I sat quietly for a while and drank water and got some fresh air and luckily soon felt much better.  The strains of winter taking its toll on my body perhaps, and a lack of sleep - Merlin had me up at 3am!
