Snow and blue sky

A day off from trains… at least that was the plan but we decided to hop on a local train and travel to Grindelwald and then up the mountain.  They have several winter walks so we decided to do one, it was one that went down the mountain.  The idea was that we might go back up the mountain and do something else later on.  We followed the walk which was lovely with deep snow around, pine trees, wooden buildings, animal tracks and blue sky. We walked and walked and walked, we do not think we went wrong but we went a very long way around to get back to the village and it was later than we had anticipated.  We had a coffee and sit down before deciding what to do next.  We were rather tried and it was mid-afternoon so we decided to get back on the train.
 
We picked up a bottle of wine at the supermarket at the local station and went back to our hotel.  Back in our room, we relaxed on the balcony enjoying the view and later sunset with a glass (or two) of red wine.  We had dinner out and have set the alarm for an early start on another train tomorrow.
