A good day skiing
As we arrived to an apartment empty of food last night, we went out for a quick supper. The restaurant was so busy and the waitress told us that this was because it is also half term for the Zurich schools - so given that information we realised we had to be up early this morning to go skiing, to avoid queues at the gondola lift.
We were at the car park by 7.50am but the parking was already full, however we managed to find parking nearby. There is one gondola lift taking everyone from the village up to the top of the skiing area, so it can often be busy. However, once we got to the top it was surprisingly quiet, with no queues at the chair lifts. The weather was glorious, with bright sunshine, blue skies and not at all cold. In fact it was the most perfect day I have experienced skiing in a long while!
We had an excellent day skiing, and according to Gavin's watch we skied 27.4km. This photo was taken when we stopped for a mid morning coffee. Although the electronic notice boards indicated that the temperature was 1C, it felt very warm and we ate lunch (a delicious chicken salad) outside on the terrace of a restaurant enjoying the sunshine, with our jackets off. I saw two men skiing in shorts - not ski shorts that one wears over a race suit, I am talking about summer holiday thin cotton shorts - absolutely bonkers!
We came down shortly after lunch as we needed to get groceries and Gavin had some admin to attend to. I spent a good chunk of the afternoon communicating with Adobe as to why my Photoshop CC account has not updated to Photoshop CC 2019. I am still none the wiser but it is too frustrating to bother with it now.
