Today the weather was well and truly dreich. From the forecast we had hoped for a dry spell in the afternoon but it didn’t happen. We did however make the best of it with a longish circular drive and plenty of stops for short walks. The drive took us south along Loch Linnhe through Appin, the bottom end of Loch Elive, onto Loch Awe, Dalmally then followed the river Orchy to the wild Rannoch Moor and ended through the pass of Glen Coe where we started.
Our short walks luckily coincided with the lightest of the rain and we managed a decent step count by the end. However the conditions for photography were challenging to say the least. No cloud definition until the end of the day and most photos thrown away due to rainspots on the lens.
The main blip is the mountaineers cottage at the bottom of Buachaille Etive Mor on the banks of the R. Coupall and in extras Castle Stalker and a bit of seaweed.
