Life in Newburgh on Ythan

A tale of sheep and gulls

This morning I set off to see what interesting ships there might be tied up in Peterhead harbour. En route I passed this colourful flock of yowes which opened up a memory of my primary school days in rural Yorkshire. Mistress Machum the primary teacher, who was a farmer's wife, was busy teaching us the ancient way to count sheep.
