Last days of holiday, chill out in the sunshine

For months we have known that the last couple of days of this epic holiday ( excluding the drive back to Auckland tomorrow) would be chilling out on the 90 mile beach. The accomodation literally opens up onto the beach so we can sit on the veranda or in the garden or on the beach in the sunshine and see and hear the waves crashing on the shore.
Well they are crashing as expected but their noise is slightly muffled by the constant drum of the rain on the veranda's plastic roof. It has not been raining all the time, it occasionally gives way to heavy drizzle.
We have tried being positive, this is the first consistent rain we have had in six weeks and the view is still spectacular and we are chilling but a bit of sunshine would be nice.
This blip was taken from the garden so you can see just how close the waves are.
