Diary of an Edinburgher

Even more dust

Well, it was all go this morning! At one point, there were four chaps in the kitchen, and two chaps working on the windows. Mind you, there's still not a huge amount visible - lots of fiddly stuff - boxing around the beams, and strengthening the new ceiling for the pulley.

The pipe from the shower, now in the kitchen, kept spurting water when the taps were used. EeeeK! Our builder 'fixed' it the other day, but it continued spurting last night. He's checked and it's blocked. So we're having to make good use of the new plastic basin this evening, and chucking the water out in the back garden. This is getting more and more like camping. And not the fun bits of camping, either. Hopefully a drain expert will appear tomorrow morning.

Archie and JR went out for a big long walk and had a sunny seat by the Duck pond, so lovely it was. I popped out to the local cafe for a while, and while there, made use of their toilet facilities.

Archie is really enjoying having all these chaps around. He's desperate to get out of the lounge to go and see them, but he does rather get in the way. The window chaps said he could stay out in the back garden with them. He's especially fond of Andrew, the boss, who makes a big fuss of him when he comes in. Here he is in the back garden. The windows are out and the sashes have been renovated. Though painting them in situ will have to be postponed till all the renovations (and dust) are completed. The huge stack of wood sure has been depleted...
