Quod oculus meus videt

Crazy, Windy Day

A very windy day.  As soon as the rain cleared the skies took on this mottled look and the sun made regular albeit brief appearances.  I took a quick walk out to the park with the infrared camera.

I thought this tree told the story of the day.  Despite its shape and the suggestion it had been influenced by the wind I don't think it is the case.  It stands adjacent to some large pines and I think it's grown like this to reach out for the light, rather than been shaped by the wind.

The camera has a 590 nm filter on it, allowing for these weird false colours in the image.  Still takes a bit of processing but it was one of the reasons for choosing this filter.  I can always add a higher frequency filter onto the lens if I wanted to get the more traditional black and white IR images.
