I’ve blipped one or more of the lambs in the fields by our local Waitrose for years. We’ve made lots of comments about spring lamb on the hoof, and lamented the increase in sheep rustling.

This year, the usual fields are full of diggers, builders, workmen and mud. Dozens and dozens of new houses are springing up all round Waitrose - and the lambs are now the other side of the ring road.

I still parked in the Waitrose car park and walked.

But the new housing estate is growing and growing.......
