Birthday afternoon

I was twenty-four when Charlie was born but only just; three days later was my birthday. She was out in Manchester with her friends, last night, for her twenty-eight birthday, but this afternoon she and Hannah drove up to Kirkby Lonsdale for a late lunch. 

I think we'd originally planned a walk in the afternoon but instead we hung out in front of the fire with Dan and Abi and, later, went down into town for a curry. Frankly, it was too much food for one day but we still managed to squeeze down a slice of birthday cake when we got home!
