Along Windermere

It's my birthday, tomorrow, and the Minx has brought me to Langdale Chase for the night. The main part of the hotel consists of a house built in the late 19th century and I think the interior is beautiful (especially as a I am a sucker for wood panelling).

We had a room on the third floor overlooking the lake, which had attached to it a little seating area in a turret on the corner of the house, and that is where I spent most of the afternoon, reading. 

Before dinner, though, we went for a walk through the grounds, just as it was getting dark, which is when I took this shot, looking south down Windermere.
