Willows on the Wey
Willow trees have in the last few days come into leaf with a bright fresh green. They line the River Wey in Guildford, screening the Yvonne Arnaud theatre. Further upstream, (extra) all was quiet at the Millmead Lock. I was surprised to see some large trees in leaf beside the lock. I think they may be limes.
I was walking beside the river in Guildford as a respite from shopping! Some people seem to relish a morning's shopping, but it is not my favourite occupation. However I did enjoy being in town on a sunny day. It was quite busy and the shops are stocked with summer clothes. I bought some cropped trousers and a jersey blazer, all set for summer.
