Snowy Mountains At Sunset

The last few days it's been rainy and miserable, but when the clouds lifted today, the results showed snow on the mountains for the first time this winter.  It's a beautiful sight!  This is a view just as the last light is on the peaks as the sun is setting.

I'm having a hard time with my photos because they won't upload on my laptop.  Neither camera.  Nothing doing.

I hesitate to use my desktop because a few days ago I got the dreaded blue screen of death.  My Windows Operating System went kaplooey.  It would have cost more to save it than the computer was worth.

So, the tech's solution was to install Linux Mint as my new operating system.  Which means I can't use any software meant for Windows, like my camera disks.  Or Photoshop.  I just upload the photos straight to the computer.  But I can't figure what the hell I'm doing.  Like tonight with the compact.

So I have a form of Picasa and GIMP, which I know nothing about but have heard it's very difficult to work with and understand.

I'm going to be on a steep learning curve with this thing.  Like how to upload photos and then find them.  

You're going to see a lot of "out of the camera" stuff, which won't have much contrast on long distance photos, especially.

Which is one reason why this one is in black and white.  But I don't think it's too bad.
