Sharing the laughter
Swamiji joined us for an hour today and we discussed world religions, politics, ayurverda, strategies for living well and we had fun... He loves to hear and tell jokes...
So ... a Swamiji joke ...
A man owned a shop that sold chickens... One day another man came into the shop and remarked ..."What healthy looking chickens, what food do you feed to them" Proudly the shop owner replied "I give them Nescafe in the morning, Bourneville cocoa at lunch, and Cadbury's chocolate in the evening." "What!" exclaimed the other man .. "I am a tax collector and you must be earning a lot of money to feed your chickens such rich food. We will be making a tax demand from you very soon. "Oh no" said the shopowner with his head in his hands... The next day another man came into the shop and he too remarked on the health of the chickens... and asked what they were fed... "Aha" thought the shopowner .. "I won't get caught out this time" ... "Very little" he said.." just the scraps from our table from time to time" .. "Well" said the man ..." that is very cruel and I am from the animal protection society and you can expect a severe fine for your cruelty" "Oh no" said the shop owner despairing that he had made such a mistake... The next day another man came into the shop ... same question "What do you feed your chickens?" "I give them 2 rupees every morning and let them go and buy their own food" he replied ..
Lots of laughter (and it is funnier when you hear a Hindu monk in his robes telling it!!) Indian humour ...
