Bubble Man's back in Town
Al Fonzo Jefferson, aka Brighton Bubble Man is back in town, and he posted on Brighton Skies yesterday to say that he'd be on the beach today and tomorrow. I'd agreed to work an extra shift this afternoon, so I headed out a little earlier so that I could go and see him to get a blip.
When I got there he was sat on the beach, so I went over to have a chat and he said that the weather conditions weren't right, there wasn't much of a breeze and it was blowing in the wrong direction. Also there were lots of little sand flies due to the warmth and they were popping the bubbles! As I had my lens ball with me I decided to go and get some shots of the west Pier instead, and sat on the beach for a while by the edge of the water - it was so calm and relaxing, until about 20 foreign students turned up and started throwing pebbles into the sea, not that they were causing a problem, but the peace was shattered.
As I walked back I saw that Al was managing to produce some bubbles so I went to watch as the crowd built up around him. He's very entertaining and makes people laugh and smile, and the kids love chasing and popping the bubbles. He seems to enjoy it too! He has a little pot to collect money and a lot of people were putting change in his pot today. I've given him money previously, but today I didn't have my purse with me, so I said I'd share my photos on Brighton Skies and he's welcome to use them if he wants.
After a nice hour in the sun I had to head to work and didn't finish until 7pm and I don't know where the time's gone since getting home - it's now 11.15pm and it's time for bed!
