Day trip to Oshino

Today SparseRunner and I went on the excursion organised by people running the workshop he was speaking at. The main aim was to see Mount Fuji but after seeing the weather forecast, we had almost given up on that. In fact, we did see it, albeit in the clouds [see extra]. A few of us walked up a hill facing Mount Fiji - hoping for a good view but there was only a small gap in the trees at the top. Still, we had some exercise!
After an excellent lunch, we went to Oshino itself which is famous for its eight springs from Mount Fuji - clear water ponds with huge fish in them. Finally we stopped at Fuji Sengen-Jinja Shrine, which had many lovely features and was in beautiful surroundings [extra].
