Rothiemurchus

After a long meeting representing the British Association of International Mountain Leaders at a meeting of the four home nations Mountain Training Boards at Glenmore Lodge in Aviemore à wander and some me time was much needed.

There are few places in the UK where ancient woodland such as this can be so easily accessed. A place that carries its sense of age so well, a place it's easy to feel at one with nature. A wonder of hanging lichens, tall pines with bent boughs of gold, the canopy alive with the spring songs of birds looking for lovers.

At an iridescent little lochan with no name I sat a goodly while and simply enjoyed being a tiny part of the whole.

Then some very Scottish dining and some propping up of the bar.
