Mothers Day

An early start so we could do some bassoon then head off to Manchester for NCO. She had a great day- she does quite a few ensembles but always says this is her favourite.

She forgot it was Mother’s Day this morning, though we figured it out eventually. She was upset when she realised she’d forgotten and made me a cup of tea.

We’ve done some practise for her festival solo, first and last thing. It’s sounding fab and she’s so excited. I have done her a new “concert blacks” shirt and she looks so grown up. We also spent some time exploring one of her bassoon audition pieces- B asked her to write a story for it, which Katie always enjoys doing. Phrase by phrase we broke it down and came up with a glroisouly fun story piece about balloons and puddles and tantrums and friendship!
