Monkey see, Monkey do!
We had a very nice Sunday and are officially stuffed from the fiesta Mexicana at Dad's today. What a feast. My dad loves to cook and when there is a good excuse for a gathering of family, there's no doubt he'll be cooking up a feast. Everything we consumed today was home made in the most strict sense of the word. We had enchiladas, pulled pork tacos, pollo en mole, tomato salsa, tomatillo salsa, guacamole and chips. Even the chips were homemade. It was a feast and I'm happy to report that my mole was a hit. I must confess, Josh and Chris weren't too interested in it, but everyone else seemed to enjoy it immensely. Next time I make it, I'll pull out the recipe that came from my host family when I lived in Mexico and try that version!
We had a lot of family at Dad's today and the kids had a blast. Whenever there is a gathering, I can't get them to eat anything significant and now that I know that, I don't even try anymore. The whole time we were there, the kids consumed chips and guacamole, a cheese ball (literally a ball of shredded cheddar cheese) and some garbonzo beans. and of course, their treats! Mia had a lollipop and Tyler had a candy cane. Hannah was thrilled at the thought of sharing Tyler's candy cane and he was equally thrilled to share it. He loves to share his treats. I'm not sure where that comes from. This picture cracked me up because Tyler is perfectly demonstrating exactly how Hannah should be likcing his lollipop!
We've got a busy week! Life just starts getting busier and busier this time of year. I'm just not quite sure what that's all about!
