Autumn Glory

The Boss spotted this from the other side of the lake with binoculars so decided it was to be the target of our morning walk. It was a tad chilly as Wanaka heads down the "Winter" path so we needed a hot choc at our fav place where the water dish was unusable and full of fag butts. 
They will lose points from me for this...
The tourists tend to smoke.
He hasn't a horticultural clue so feel free to name the tree.....
